Hoku's haku

The hala plant (Pandanus). Also called Screw pine. With big long leaves, this green plant is useful in Pacific island cultures. The leaves ( lauhala) are used for weaving many things used in every day life such headbands, baskets, hats, mats.  This can be used to make the headband featured in the Coconut leaf headband tutorial. Simply cut the leaf lengthwise to make the strips.  Follow the instructions.  After much practice, you'll be amazed at how fast you can make them.

 Cute White and Purple  Globe flowers  are a nice addition to cover garden grounds. They are round and hairy-looking flowers. This bushy annual plant with stiff stems and oblong leaves enjoys full sun.  Its vivid purple color is a nice addition to flower arrangements.

Here's a plant that is easy to grow and propagates quickly:  Purple Prince Joyweed. A clipping dipped in a jar of water or moist soil will soon show roots in less than a week. After being planted in the soil and watered once a day, the Purple Prince Joyweed quickly propagates within weeks, making it a great ground cover.  The Purple Prince Joyweed likes sunlight.  Watering once a day in the early stages is recommended.
